About
Bonnie is a Life Coach, Marriage and Family Therapist, EMDR specialist, Clinical Hypnotherapist, an Educator, Healer, and Spiritual Guide. She is also a mother of four. She has been on a path of healing and self discovery for the past 35 years and has a passion for helping others in their journey toward wellness, self realization, personal transformation, and healing.
As a result of some very difficult life experiences, Bonnie as a girl and young adult, struggled with anxiety, panic attacks, depression, fear, insecurity, and low self esteem. This influenced her in her journey into finding her self, healing, inner peace, happiness, alleviation from suffering, and spiritual development. Due to a life crisis at age 21 she moved into a Zen Buddhist Center and lived there for eight years. At the center she began to develop spiritual practices that have become life long tools that she continues to use both for herself, and teaches to her clients. These practices are mindfulness meditation, Tai Chi, Qigong, and sound healing therapies. "These practices continue to help me navigate difficult feelings, and situations when they arise. And when all else fails I dance, sing, laugh a lot and pray."
She has been a practicing psychotherapist for 15 years and has moved into more "non traditional" methods of healing. "My training in psychotherapy has been very useful but now I prefer to wear the hat of life coach/counselor, spiritual guide, and energy/sound healer. She has a tool kit with many different psychological modalities and tailors each session to the client's needs. She especially loves utilizing the expressive arts as a therapeutic tool, such as psycho-drama, dance, voice dialogue, and art therapy, which she has years of training in.
Bonnie believes in the essential perfection, and wholeness of each human being. "At the core of each person is the energy of love. That is who we are. Healing is about reconnecting with our essence and then living our lives from that place of light and true power. When we can connect with our true essential selves, all our decisions are made from a place of integrated clarity, compassion, intuition and right purpose." As a guide or coach she sees herself as an equal and peer with her clients. She sees each client or person as the "expert" of their own lives. She just midwives them into connecting with their authentic selves. She doesn't believe in a pathology model of psychology which looks at whats wrong with the person, or whats not working. Instead she embraces a life empowering approach which looks at what is working with the philosophy that with the right attitude, and the necessary resources, anyone can live the life they want and were meant to live. "Living the life you love" is her motto.
